Learn to see our beautiful home with new eyes through tasting the abundant wild foods we live among. You will learn to identify plants at your own pace with expert guidance from an experienced forager in a supportive group setting. Each fortnight we will recap previous plants to improve our understanding and we will discover whatever new plants the seasons provide. We will learn to process the wild produce together and share recipes and ideas.
This is an all ages friendly circle, with lots of opportunity for discussion and questions. This is ideal for those with no previous knowledge of plants or wild food as well as improvers, but experts may find the slower pace incompatible. Specifically for people wanting to attend a short fortnightly foraging session in a warm and supportive group setting.

Zoe recently wrote on her Facebook page:
“One of the things I’m really excited about at the moment is Foraging Club. I’ve taken inspiration from our hunter-gather ancestors and decided a group learning environment for foraging would be pretty radical. So instead of lecturing a group about the joys of stinging nettles, I can nurture a collective learning experience. It’s a bit different from other foraging walks and I’m really into it right now.
After piloting the format a few times and getting lots of good feedback from everyone who came I decided I wanted to create Foraging Club. This is a regular fortnightly event, on a Wednesday morning in Shiskine for Arran locals. The aim is to create a supportive atmosphere to learn together. Each club will build on the knowledge of the previous session and give us a chance to grow our foraging experience collectively. We’ll work together to improve our identification skills as well as being creative to process and cook our wild bounty, hopefully we’ll bring in some of creations to share too.
The actual foraging event will be short and sweet at only one hour, but we’ll finish at the Zero Waste Cafe for a cup of tea and a further chat about the things we’ve learned. The chat after is totally optional.
The Zero Waste Cafe is hosted by my old friends Arran Eco Savvy at St Molio’s Church and its full of sustainable food.
I’m looking for people to join Foraging Club, so please get in touch if this sounds like your cuppa tea.”
