Woodside Arran Open Days

Woodside Arran: Farm Open Day and Members Only Day

The four directors of Woodside Arran CIC are excited to announce our first ever Farm Open Day on Saturday 27th of July to which all are invited to attend from 10 am to 4pm. We will also have a Members Only Day on Wednesday 24th of July. You can become a member via our online shop.

Woodside Arran is a small farm in Kildonan on the south end of Arran that encompasses organic growing techniques, permaculture design principles and regenerative agricultural practices. This is a great opportunity to come and have a tour of Woodside Farm and find out about our plans for the future and how you can become directly involved.

Come meet the pigs, the dogs and the chickens, check out our new sawmill and rocket composter, try some veg from our market gardens or just chill out by the pond and the trees.

Become a member of Woodside Arran

No matter who you are, wherever you live you can still become a member. Woodside Arran Support Membership is for you. Since we established the farm we have kept our membership informal but now as we look towards options like community ownership and social investors for the farm we need your support more than ever. By becoming a Farm Member you put your support down in black and white!

Yes, of course you will get a discount on our online shop and the Woodside Farm Shop, kept up to date with newsletter and an invite to the best party in town, our Summer Members Only Day. However you do much more than that. By being a member you are saying you support local food on Arran. You are committing to new ideas like our new Local Food for Local Schools Project and you are pledging to invest in the sustainable solutions that we believe will help to solve our current food crisis.

Now we appreciate not everyone has a spare £10 (often we are in that boat ourselves!) so please do not let that put you off. If you want to become a member and can not afford to then please get in touch for our bursary membership. We want everyone on Arran and beyond to feel like Woodside Farm is for them.

Our Vision

Our vision is to establish a model of sustainable, resilient and self sufficient community-led regenerative agriculture that protects biodiversity and generates local livelihoods. Going forward we are going to be opening the farm up more and more and getting as many people as possible involved in our social enterprise. We are designing seating, getting a coffee maker and plan to organise family-friendly farming days.

In order to make all of this possible – to secure our future at the farm and become the first fully non for profit community owned working farm in Scotland – we need your help. So whoever you are, wherever you are if you think that local food is important, regenerative agriculture is essential, community green spaces are essential then please do come join us this summer.

Thank you for your support.
