(Translation by Zoria P. K.)

Goes out,
comes back—
the love life of a cat.

(Translation by Robert Haas)

All the time I pray to Buddha
I keep on
killing mosquitoes.

(Translation by Robert Haas)

Kobayashi Issa (1763 – 1828)
