Isle of Arran Horticultural Society is holding a spring social event next Tuesday for the island’s growers to hear how to get ready for this year’s summer show in August.
Whether you’re a seasoned perennial or a budding new grower, the Get Ready for the Summer Show evening will be a chance to share your knowledge or pick up tips for successful show entries.
We are absolutely delighted to have Brodick Castle’s head gardener Donald Guthrie and his deputy John Nicolson on our expert panel to answer questions from the floor and share their wide knowledge and expertise.
This is a unique opportunity for members – and anyone else who is interested – to get tips on how to get ready for the summer show, especially if they are new to showing.
There will also be a plant sale with seedlings and plantlets available at reasonable prices for those who are a bit behind with their preparations. Please bring along any surplus seedlings or plantlets you would like to add to the sale.
The event is free admission and will be held in the Ormidale Pavilion next Tuesday, June 6th, at 7pm. It is open to members and non-members so bring a friend or neighbour. There will be refreshments available and, of course, a raffle.
Please feel free to email any questions to arranhorticulturalsociety@gmail.com if you can’t be there on the night.
