A message from Emma Tracey, one of Eco Savvy’s new sustainable transport coordinators
We are really excited about our upcoming event Arran in 10 Years – Travel + Transport, which will take place on Tuesday the 1st of October at Brodick Hall. Eco Savvy will be hosting the public consultation designed to challenge the public and our contributing partners to think about what Arran’s travel + transport will be like in 10 years, this will give people the chance to think creatively, positively and aspirationally about the future of sustainable travel on the island, and ultimately cultivate a community where active travel is the norm.
After the success of last years’ public gathering Eco Savvy thought it was important to update the local community on what has been achieved since the last meeting. We are also taking this opportunity to get ideas and insights about current projects such as the Lift Share Scheme, and Arran’s Active Travel Map.
The event will include stalls from stakeholders including Sustrans, Arran Trust, Arran High School, Cycle Scotland and many more; there will be stations where the community can draw their favourite or desired routes onto maps, which will feed into our Active Travel Map; there will be E-Bike trials and an informal public discussion about future travel + transport on the island.
