Pianist Santa Ignace to play in Arran

Music Arran present pianist Santa Ignace

Saturday 16th November at Arran High school, 7.30 pm

Award winning Concert pianist Santa Ignace began her piano studies at the age of six, with her father as her first teacher. She was inspired by her father’s mastery, and unique interpretations of a wide repertoire of jazz, including all the classics. This virtuosic and brilliantly creative introduction to music undoubtedly influenced her approach to the formal study and interpretation which were and continue to be her main inspiration.

Carefully and intentionally Santa has combined her early jazz influences with thirty years of intense study and competition in the field of classical music, to develop her unique interpretations of the most challenging pieces by Rachmaninov, Listz, Chopin, Scriabin, Godowski and others. She has presented these works with great success in recitals and performances at various venues in Latvia, Ireland, France, England, Scotland, Russia and The Netherlands.

During her performance in Arran she will be playing some Chopin original arrangements, Liszt’s Mephisto Waltzes, and Beethoven’s Sonata No 17.
