ArranSound’s next Listen In will be on Sunday the 12th February at 7.15pm in The Ormidale Pavilion in Brodick
Arransound.com in partnership with author Jill Korn, will premier
‘There Goes Craufurdland’
A new radio play, the third in Jill’s hugely successful Ayrshire Trilogy:
An historical drama, set in rural Ayrshire of the 18th and 19th centuries, based on an Ayrshire lady’s diary. Craufurdland Castle in Fenwick, Ayrshire, keeps its secrets close. But Janet Craufurd suspects that the house has its own story to tell – a story lost in a secret passage, in hidden rooms, in dusty books and neglected papers.
After presenting this somewhat spooky play, Jill will be talking about researching ‘There Goes Craufurdland’ in the dusty archives of Craufurdland Castle, and elsewhere; about how characters are developed to bring them to life through dialogue; and about how fact and fiction are combined to make a dramatic story. There will be the usual opportunity to ask questions and discuss any aspect of the play and its production. We hope you will join us armed with some very good questions. BYOB and we will provide everything else for a pleasant evening along with some music and maybe even the odd ghost! We look forward to welcoming you on the 12th!
There is no need to book, however if you can let me know if you plan to attend it will help me with seating and nibble supplies! Contact jillkornwriter@gmail.com
