Diary for The Voice for Arran – June


I celebrated the first wild roses with a silk painting, drawing the flowers and leaves with gold gutta before flooding the paint into the petals and leaves.

The verge plants I did by layering two or three colours of net in a ring as a background to the machine embroidery.  I then tore the net to get a soft, random effect.

It is fascinating to look at verges in June as different groups of small plants colonise them depending upon light and location.
