The Arran Natural History Society’s winter talks are starting next week, and begin with a fascinating topic close to home:
‘Glen Rosa, a landscape influenced by people,’ by Kate Sampson
Tuesday 2nd September, 7:30pm at the Ormidale Pavilion
Glen Rosa is undoubtedly a magnificent glen, sculptured by glaciation over 10,000 years ago. However, it is a landscape that has been changed by people ever since the first Bronze age settlers. This talk will discuss how people have impacted the landscape, including the recent devastating fire, and how it is now managed for nature. How can we future proof the glen for wildlife and the impact of climate change?
It is also time to renew your Arran Natural History Society membership. You can do this on the night, or by bank transfer.
Be aware, we have changed our bank account! As explained at the AGM this is because the Bank of Scotland was starting to charge a monthly fee.
New Account details are:

Membership fees are the same as last year: £25 for a couple and £15 for an individual. For that you’ll be able to come to all our talks, walks and online events, and get a copy of the bird report in April. Great value for money!
