Arran: Water, Energy and You

Tuesday 16 July – Arran High, Lamlash – 11.00am – 4.00pm

If you live or work on Arran – or even if you’re a visitor – and would like to find out more about saving energy, water and money then we would love to talk to you.

We’ve organised a fantastic, FREE event which brings together many of the island’s community, environmental and ecological groups in one place along with our friendly team from Home Energy Scotland.

Together with several partners – including Arran Eco Savvy, Arran Community and Voluntary Service, TAP (Think About Plastic), COAST (Community of Arran Seabed Trust) VisitArran, Citrus Energy, Sustrans and more we’ll have lots of advice, tips and information to share on how to save water, keep your home cosy, minimise food waste and help Arran’s environment.

On the day our helpful advisors will be giving out face-to face information and packs from Scottish Water to help you save water, a precious commodity.

If you’ve ever thought about trying an eBike, this is the perfect opportunity as we’ll be running trials throughout the day. We’ll also have some expert advice on electric vehicles.

Children will be kept entertained with our recycling challenge and kids (big and small) can pedal to create their own healthy, fruit drink on our adult and child smoothie bikes.

With lots to see and learn, this event is a great way to find out about the big and small differences you can make to use less energy, save water and help protect the future of Arran. We’ll also have fun activities for kids (big and small!) and some great giveaways, so please come along to find out more. You’ll also have the opportunity to enter our free Home Energy Scotland prize draw, with a top prize worth £250!

Love Food Hate Waste Workshops
As part of this event we are also running FREE Love Food Hate Waste Workshops for businesses/organisations and their employees.

Love Food Hate Waste workshops empower people to:
• Save up to £460 a year through reducing food waste at home
• Play their part in reducing the impact of food waste and creating a greener Scotland
• Reduce food waste at work as they become more attuned to sustainable behaviour at home
• Help your workplace work towards recognized VIBES awards

For learning more on reducing food waste you can book a place on the Love Food Hate Waste workshop. Two workshops are available at 11:30am and 2:30pm.
