In such challenging and difficult times all communities are working hard to get plans and actions in place to make sure they are as well prepared as possible and that everyone is looked after. Sharing ideas and information is one way we can help each other out and Isle20 is one initiative that Tiree islander Rhoda Meek has developed to help small businesses across the islands.
Support the Scottish islands during Covid-19 by shopping from the comfort of your sofa!
Rhoda who has organised Isle20 writes:
I’m Rhoda Meek. I run Tiree Tea and work in software. There are a lot of island businesses in Scotland who will struggle badly as non-essential travel restrictions reduce numbers of tourists.
I hope that people who might otherwise spend money in the islands in person, will spend it digitally! If you like it, please share it. Small businesses support a lot of people and your custom is much appreciated.
Or if you the owner of a small business, you can get your business listed free here
Please report any problems, issues or bugs. If you think you can help make it better, come talk to me – rhoda@tireetea.co.uk
I am not taking or making any money from this. I am hugely grateful to the Scottish Islands Federation who have stepped in to cover the practical costs of running the site.
They do a lot of work to support our islands and you can find out more about them here
