An update from the Care on Arran Public Action Group concerning the recent decision by the NAIJB to cut the level of care at Montrose House:

CALL TO ACTION!

The North Ayrshire Integration Joint Board has officially received an application to review its decision on Montrose House Care Home — after concerns were raised that the impact on Arran’s island communities was not properly considered.

The Stats speak for themselves…

Islanders now have the chance to make their voices heard, and to let north Ayrshire council know the strength of opposition to the cuts.

They will argue that providing “safe and consistent care” is their priority, but we ask, why does that justify permanent cuts to the facilities at Montrose to 10 beds, and which necessitate family separation, which has been shown to reduce life expectancy by 10 to 15 years?
