An offshoot of Protest in Harmony is starting on Arran!
Protest in Harmony is a radical singing group based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, that sing songs of protest and struggle, of peace, justice, the environment and human rights. We sing at events and demonstrations.
We believe that song can be a powerful, positive force. We love that we can protest in four-part harmony about awful things; that the choir helps us find a voice about issues we really care about; that it brings non-violent resistance into the heart of our lives. And we love that it can be enormous fun!
Anyone can join us, no experience necessary, and no auditions. We are not affiliated to any political, environmental or religious group.
We plan to meet most Wednesday lunchtimes in Lamlash. The next meeting is 3rd December, 12pm, at the Glenisle Hotel.
For more information please contact us here at the Voice on info@voiceforarran.com or just come along!
The Edinburgh group meet one Saturday each month to learn songs of freedom and struggle from around the world so if you are on the mainland check out the website for details of their next meeting.
We have an extensive catalogue of songs, with all voice parts, recordings and scores, as well as reports about our recent activities.
All are welcome. No need to read music, no singing experience necessary – just come along with your enthusiasm and your voice!
