Corrie boys generate a possible prize

Trefor Goronwy and Oisean Gold, of Corrie Primary School, have been nominated for a science and engineering award for creating their own wave powered electricity generator. Their entry has been chosen as one of three finalists in the P6 to P7 category of the Junior Saltire Prize Award 2012 competition, which was open to every school in Scotland. All the Primary Seven pupils worked together to build the model generator.

Their teacher, Jane Boyle said, ‘The boys have worked very hard on their model. They used only recycled materials, such as copper wire, to create their model, which I think appealed to the competition’s organisers.’
